Dental is very important thing for kitty. Kitty is carnivore. The dental (teeth) important for kitty for eat. When you go to the vet, make sure that dental health is checked and discussed. When you cat is acting strangely, especially when eating, check the dental.
Kittens, have fewer teeth than adult cats. Kitten have 26 temporary teeth and adult cat have 30 permanent teeth, 16 on top and 14 on the bottom. Cat getting the permanent teeth at four months years old.
The most dental diseases found in cat are resporption lesion and gum disease (gingivitis). Resorption lesions often result in tooth loss. Resorption lesions are very difficult to detect because it often grow below the gum line.
Gum disease is found in over 70% of cat by the age of three. Your cat has gum disease if you find yellow and brown tarter build up along the gum line and over the tooth, red inflamed gums, and bad breath.
If your cat have a dental problem, you need to see a vet. Ask the vet about these conditions to make sure your cat is fine, prevent the cat get more seriuous disease or problem.
Sometimes cat can break their teeth. This can be result of fall, fight with another cat or dog, or biting something hard. Usually, the upper canine tooth fractured. If your cat dental fracture, you can may be in pain and may be not. But, whatever it in pain or not, talk to your vet to make sure it’s okay.
Overall, dental is important for mammals, especially for cat. So, like human, you must check you cat dental to the vet. Make sure its dental is health. It will make the cat happy and healthy.
